My family’s Christmas tradition is to make sugar and chocolate chip cookies together.
As kids we were a family of six, now were a family of almost seventeen- not in siblings mind you, but in in-laws and nieces and nephews.
We went from baking one batch of each to five of each.
I just spent my entire Saturday making cookies and half of me hated it. (Guess who made the batter last night.) The other half enjoys the fellowship with family and giving away cookies to everyone I see.
Needless to say I’m a fan of Christmas.
Do you have any Christmas traditions?
I made peanut blossom cookies tonight with my college aged daughter. Cookies are fun but a lot of work when you include clean up. Still have yet to make sugar cookies.
I always have to watch some variation of A Christmas Carol and I also watch Its a Wonderful Life.

That’s awesome. And yeah clean up is the worst.

For the record, there is no such thing as too many cookies (especially chocolate chip).

One season my daughter and I decided to make the 12 Cookies of Christmas and deliver them to the neighbors. We made batches of three varieties, on each weekend, and delivered them when fresh. By the end, we were exhausted, and the neighbors were incredulous, “What? More! Oh, dear, we’re getting fat over here because of your cookies. Is this the end of them?”
Your theme seems odd, The Little Mermaid’s Christmas, perhaps?

That’s cool! I didn’t have much of a theme I just decided I decorated those the best

I am just about to write a post about Christmas traditions 🙂 I love the octopus cookie you made and the pink elephant. That’s a large family. I am also a fan of Christmas but for the decoration and the smells and the winter weather. Of course there is also the food. I am sure your cookies are yummy. Wishing you a Merry Christmas from Bratislava. ☃️🎄

Thank you!! I love Christmas for the smells and the winter weather too, we just don’t get a lot of it in South Texas 😄
