I Wish I May
By Zarah Parker
Stars, like dust scattered in the sky.
I sit at my window and hope
for one to quit itโs light-
to fall into this quiet night.
Stars, they glisten against my eyes.
I lay my head against the glass
willing one to fall straight down,
But then a hear a fatal sound-
The birds have begun their songs,
And I know the morning light soon will glow.
The rays of the sun grow warm
against my cheek. Will you come home?
This one is a bit old.
It is beautiful! I love the association with the fatal sound… Morning creeping up the birds are now singing a mournful song. It’s wonderful

Thanks! I appreciate it. It’s pretty old so I was kind of worried about it ๐
