For October Book Club I’m going a little out of my comfort zone.
This month’s book is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
(Okay I was recommend a different book of Gaiman’s by AnonyMole, but this counts as a half rec., right?)
Synopsis provided by Goodreads:
Under the streets of London there’s a place most people could never even dream of. A city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels, knights in armour and pale girls in black velvet. This is the city of the people who have fallen between the cracks.
Richard Mayhew, a young businessman, is going to find out more than enough about this other London. A single act of kindness catapults him out of his workday existence and into a world that is at once eerily familiar and utterly bizarre. And a strange destiny awaits him down here, beneath his native city: Neverwhere.
370 pages. 13h 48 mins on Audible. The real question is, will I get through this book by October 31?
Let me know if you have any recommendations for next month.
Not avail through my Clackamas Library. I’ll have to scrounge… (But, ahem, I’m sure it’s an excellent choice.)

“The Snow Goose” – Paul Gallico.
Honestly, I never recommend books, but this one has a bittersweet story. It’s very short – probably not even a 20,000 word novella. But the descriptions and use of language is engaging.

I’ll check it out! I short one might be the best thing. I can barely read the ones I choose in time! Haha.

FYI – Just a request. Perhaps let us know the next book month book a few days before the end of the month so those of us too cheap to pay for audible can go out and get it in time. :). Thanks. Love the book month idea though. And you’re my second favorite blog on WordPress…

And thanks, that means a lot to me! I’ve been blogging slightly over a year and honestly never thought I’d keep to it. What’s your first favorite? Your own? 😅😉
